Refurbishment of Condor Ferries new CONDOR ISLANDER

FerryTrimline completed the extensive interior rebrand of Condor Ferries‘ newly purchased CONDOR ISLANDER (formerly StraitNZ 's STRAITSMAN) during wet dock in Poole, UK. Trimline delivered the full design and build project, completely revitalizing the ferry’s interior and providing passengers with a welcoming and spacious environment, featuring premium options for Condor customers.

Trimline's in-house interior design team worked closely with Condor Ferries to maximize the interior space and create new inviting, luxurious and spacious areas.

Katherine Larner, Trimline Interior Designer, shared her delight at the overall look of the interior, saying, "When I work with a client on an interior design brief, it often has to change during the design and build process, and the final result doesn't always look exactly like my initial vision. But the end result on CONDOR ISLANDER is almost exactly the same as the design, which gives me great pride. It looks amazing and now offers a premium ferry experience."

This comprehensive project encompassed the design and outfitting of all passenger spaces on the vessel, including the creation of a new main Brasserie, Kids Corner, Horizon Lounge, premium Club Lounge, premium Cove Restaurant, and the introduction of a brand-new duty-free shop. Trimline’s work extended to all 53 regular cabins, superior cabins, and a luxurious suite, offering passengers a range of options to suit their preferences.

Further enhancements included upgrades to the crew’s accommodation and public restrooms. The lobbies and alleyways have new carpets, along with additional seating, providing quieter areas away from the bustling brasserie. The pet-friendly areas, exclusive to cabins, were designed with comfort and practicality in mind.

In the brasserie, the dark ambiance was replaced with a light and airy atmosphere achieved through half-glass, half-wall partitions, giving passengers the opportunity to enjoy their meals while taking in views of the outsicondor islander brasseriede. The Cove restaurant offers a more private and premium dining experience, designed with a touch of French influence, characterized by the use of plants and foliage for added privacy. The Horizon Lounge was created to offer a calm and comfortable space with recliner seats for passengers to rest and unwind in during the ferry’s journeys, which can last up to 12 hours. The Club Lounge, with its premium feel, provides an exclusive experience, complete with an electronic keypad entry system and a small self-serve food servery.

Matthew Shortt, Trimline Project Manager, expressed his satisfaction with the project's success, stating, "CONDOR ISLANDER looks amazing and our team feels so proud to have carried out such a transformation. The team at Condor were a pleasure to work alongside. Their professionalism and responsiveness allowed us keep on track with deadlines through all phases of the project."

Olly Futter, Head of Operations at Condor Ferries concluded "CONDOR ISLANDER looks outstanding and that is down to the design and craftsmanship of the Trimline team. They were a pleasure to work alongside during the rebrand of CONDOR ISLANDER. Their professionalism and responsiveness from start to finish was exemplary and allowed us to keep on track with deadlines through all phases of the project."
