Christina Morup joined the company this month. In the COO role she will lead operational performance across the business and support the company's transformation programme, P&O Ferries said, citing her background in shipping, leadership and business transformation.

Peter Leschly arrives with more than 20 years of leadership experience in RoPax freight and logistics, most recently at Scandlines, where he worked on commercial performance and strategic development. He will take responsibility for the growth of P&O Ferries' freight business across the company's UK and European trade routes.

P&O Ferries handles over 1.2 million freight units a year, which the company says equates to approximately GBP 86 billion of trade in goods moving through its UK ports.

Both appointments sit within P&O Ferries' wider leadership team covering the operator's UK and European network.
