Pan Marine to launch new RoPax bought in New Zealand
FerryCairo-based Pan Marine will launch its new RoPax route between Safaga in Egypt and the Port of Neom in Saudi Arabia at the beginning of December.
On the route, Pan Marine will use the 1997-built “Visentini” Mark I/first-generation superstructure RoPax PAN LILY, which - as previously reported by Shippax - in early October 2025 was taken over from StraitNZ/Blue Bridge, who had employed the vessel as STRAIT FERONIA between New Zealand’s two main islands.
STRAIT FERONIA became surplus after the purchase of the larger and newer “Visentini” Mark I/Flex Bow RoPax STENA LIVIA from Stena Line. PAN LILY will operate four fixed sailings weekly with seven-hour crossings, supporting freight with up to 130 trucks and 100 cars per trip.
The service strengthens connectivity across Egypt, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and Iraq, with long-term potential for extended corridors into Europe. One of PAN LILY’s sisters, the likewise 1997-built PELAGOS EXPRESS, operated by UME Shipping, is also operated in the same Egypt-Saudi Arabia corridor.
