Over 1 million passengers travelled with Finnlines in 2025
FerryFinnlines total number of passengers in 2025, including professional drivers and private travellers, was 1,021,000, which is an increase of 9 per cent compared to 2024. The number of private passengers increased by over 13 per cent.
"I am very pleased that we have now passed 1 million passengers. It is a big step for Finnlines and a result of the strong commitment of our employees and the continued confidence of our passengers," says Marco Palmu, Finnlines' Passenger Director.
The strongest growth was noted among Polish passengers on the Sweden-Poland route, which can partly be explained by the fact that the route was launched in 2024. The second largest increase was seen among Finnish passengers on the Sweden–Finland route. The number of passengers also increased on Finnlines' routes between Sweden and Germany and between Finland and Germany.
The growth in passenger numbers reflects changing travel habits, with sea travel increasingly seen as an attractive option for travel to Europe. Finnlines offers a complete solution with combined freight and passenger traffic.
"We want to make the journey to the continent both easy and pleasant, while at the same time offering "that little extra" on the route between Sweden and Finland. Our new ships on this route offer a high-quality travel experience that is different from traditional cruises, with a focus on quality, relaxation and time for each other," says Marco Palmu.
