New dining concept opened on TYCHO BRAHE
FerryØresundslinjen is now opening a brand-new restaurant on the electric ferry, TYCHO BRAHE. Restaurant 'Libitum Social Dining' combines buffet and social dining in a concept where food and drink can be enjoyed ad libitum for one hour and 50 minutes.
TYCHO BRAHE has been sailing without an actual restaurant since 2008 - but now Øresundslinjen is betting that the Danish restaurant concept will once again entice guests into the beautiful, newly decorated premises with the best view of the Øresund.
'Libitum Social Dining' is packed with the Øresund Line's offer of a multitude of dishes in Nordic gastronomy. If there are many of you, you can eat family-style with sharing-friendly platters for the table, but you can of course also choose your own plate.
"We have missed having a restaurant on our Danish ship, as we have on the Swedish AURORA. We live off and on the narrow strait between our two countries, and we are looking forward to hopefully many guests. 'Libitum' must be a new meeting place on the water for Danes and Swedes", says Molslinjen's managing director, Kristian Durhuus.
As the name 'Libitum' suggests, this is a restaurant where you can eat and drink freely on two double trips (1 hour and 50 minutes). The raw materials in the restaurant are carefully selected according to sustainability principles, fish and shellfish are ASC/MSC certified, and guests can always keep an eye on how big a CO2 footprint their meal creates via small signs next to the dishes. At the same time, the restaurant's chefs have a strong focus on producing only the necessary quantities and avoiding food waste.
"We know that the Swedes love to "tura" - that is, strolling on board and sailing back and forth and using the ferry's offer. Here comes an opportunity in a new Danish restaurant, which lets Swedish - and of course Danish - guests experience the Danish "ad libitum concept", explains Kristian Durhuus.
The restaurant will officially open for Easter on 28 March 2024. A visit to the restaurant can be booked in advance together with your ferry trip – or you can turn up at the restaurant and hope for a seat.
