New CMA CGM 5,500 CEU PCTC floated out
Ro-roThe first vessel in CMA CGM's new dual-fuel PCTC fleet has been floated out of the building dock at Xiamen Shipbuilding. The CMA CGM LAGUNA SECA is the first of an initial quartet, all chartered from Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS).
The remaining three sister vessels are under construction at the Fujian Mawei Shipyard, which will be named CMA CGM SUZUKA, CMA CGM INTERLAGOS and CMA CGM CASTELLET, all of which are scheduled for delivery in 2027. The 55,000 GT sisters, designed by SDARI, have a length of 190m, 35.6m beam and 8.3m draft.
They have a capacity for 5,500 vehicles on 11 decks, of which three are liftable. They are equipped with Everllence B&W 7S50ME-C GI main engines with an output of 12,000 kW. The new PCTC class is designed to serve the widest variety of ports and can be readily used as feeder vessels on regional trades.
