MEDMAR MARTINA is being prepared for the Gulf of Naples
FerryMEDMAR MARTINA, the former Danish ferry FYNSHAV, arrived in Naples in early April following its delivery voyage from Denmark. The Italian company Medmar purchased the 3,380 GT ferry, built in 1998, back in January from Molslinjen for a reported price of EUR 4.5 million. FYNSHAV had become surplus at the Danish ferry operator after the introduction of the newly built electric ferry NERTHUS on the company’s Bøjden–Fynshav route in southern Denmark.
MEDMAR MARTINA now undergoes a conversion at Palumbo Shipyard in Naples, where, among other things, a stern ramp will be retrofitted. During its operation in Denmark, shore-based ramps were used. In addition, MEDMAR MARTINA will be repainted in Medmar's colour scheme during its stay at the yard, before the ferry is deployed on Medmar's routes to the islands in the Gulf of Naples ahead of the start of the summer season.
