BUENAVISTA EXPRESS

Growth on Canary Island-Huelva after tonnage upgrade

FerryMore than 9,000 passengers travelled with Fred. Olsen Express between the Canary Islands and Huelva during June and July, nearly 11% more than during the same period in 2025. The increase coincides with the comprehensive refurbishment of BUENAVISTA EXPRESS, the company’s new vessel operating between Huelva and the Canary Islands.

The 172-metre-long ferry has a service speed of 21.5 knots and capacity for up to 1,850 lane metres of freight. Its public areas, restaurants and lounges have recently been modernised to make the crossing resemble a mini-cruise experience.

BUENAVISTA EXPRESS was introduced on the route 24 January this year. Fred. Olsen Express took ownership of BUENAVISTA EXPRESS 29 September 2025. The ship, which at that time was named FORTUNY, was first sold by Armas Trasmediterránea to Liberty Lines, who immediately resold the vessel to Fred. Olsen Express.
