Grimaldi starts a new ro-ro trade through Taranto
Ro-roSince September 19, the Grimaldi's ro-ro vessel EUROCARGO LIVORNO calls twice a week at Taranto (in the heel of Italy), in a new loop encompassing also Civitavecchia, Savona, Genoa, Catania, Bar (Montenegro).
The move could also be seen as a 'vengeance' over Brindisi, a nearby port that earlier last July rebelled against the massive and ubiquitous presence of the mighty group and 'dared' to reject its 20-year concession request by means of a resolution of the Port Committee that went against it.
The Naples-based shipping chose, as their ship agent, SPT Servizi Portuali Taranto Srl, belonging to the network of Savona-based Campostano group, while Cargo loading and unloading is entrusted to De Vitis Trasporti Sud Srl in joint with Peyrani Sud SpA.
