Gotlandsbolaget Q3 revenues jump 41% after Go Nordic Cruiseline acquisition
FinanceGotlandsbolaget reported a sharp rise in third-quarter revenues to SEK 1,416 million (2024: SEK 1,003 million), driven primarily by the inclusion of Go Nordic Cruiseline, acquired at the end of October 2024. Adjusted operating profit for July–September increased to SEK 353 million from SEK 318 million a year earlier, helped by a solid high-season performance from the newly integrated Oslo–Copenhagen cruise-ferry operation.
Earnings per share for the quarter rose to SEK 141 from SEK 127. For the first nine months of 2025, revenues reached SEK 2,985 million (2024: SEK 1,992 million), but adjusted operating profit declined to SEK 158 million (2024: SEK 279 million). The year-to-date result was held back by planned dry-docking and upgrades of two vessels in Q1, high establishment costs at Go Nordic Cruiseline, and negative unrealised foreign exchange effects. Passenger volumes remained broadly stable.
Go Nordic Cruiseline welcomed 230,000 passengers in Q3, in line with expectations, while the BIRKA GOTLAND joint venture with Viking Line carried 161,000 guests – up 3% on the previous year. Gotland ferry traffic dipped 1% in the peak quarter, though island residents’ travel rose 6% over the nine-month period.
Key developments during and after the quarter included a new collaboration with Strawberry to convert the group’s Visby hotel into a Quality Hotel from June 2026, participation in the newly established Brommaflyg to secure future air links to Gotland, and shareholder approval of a long-term incentive programme for senior management and the board. The company also announced it will accelerate the transition to renewable fuels on its Gotland routes by selling surplus emissions credits under the FuelEU Maritime regulation, using the proceeds to increase the share of green fuels.
