FMEL says CMAL newbuildings are “an albatross around our neck” as costs rise by GBP 50 million

FerryThere are troubled waters on the River Clyde in Scotland at present as the relationship between shipbuilder Ferguson Marine Engineering Ltd (FMEL) and government-owned ferry and ports company Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) plumbs to new depths, with the owner of the shipyard Jim McColl saying that the two hybrid LNG dual fuel ro-paxes it is building for CMAL are “an albatross around our neck.”
