Fincantieri launches LNG-capable RoPax for the Sicilian Region
FerryThe new EUR 114.6 million RoPax ferry being built by Fincantieri for the Sicilian Region has been launched at the Palermo shipyard. The Naos-designed CONSTANZA I DI SICILIA is scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2026 and will provide service between Lampedusa and Pantelleria.
At about 140 metres long and 14,500 gross tonnes, the vessel will accommodate up to 1,000 passengers and 200 cars, reaching a maximum speed of 19 knots.
Propulsion will be provided by dual-fuel LNG engines, and a photovoltaic system combined with a battery pack will enable the vessel to remain in port with zero emissions for up to four hours.
