EU–Georgia routes expand with the return of the DIOSCURIA

FerryThe 17,790 GT RoPax DIOSCURIA, formerly the Polish BALTIVIA, which was built by Kalmar Varv in 1981, is back on the Black Sea connection between Constanta in Romania and Poti in Georgia. The 1,404 lane-metre RoPax, with a 238 passenger/driver capacity, has been off the route for many months after repair work was undertaken in Turkey.

The 18,653 GT MERT L, with a capacity for 1,800 lane metres and 215 passengers or drivers, formerly the GRYF, which has been maintaining the weekly service until now, is presently anchored off Constan?a.

The 5,684 GT railferry AIA is also back in operation after many months of inactivity. Due to drone warfare in the Black Sea, ships track close to the Turkish coast to reduce their risks.

A new entrant in the East–West Black Sea is Eurasia Ferries, operating the chartered 14,398 GT 1,770 lane-metre RoPax LIDER PRESTIJ on a weekly connection from Constan?a to Batumi.
