Caronte & Tourist buys LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA
FerryThe LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA of Trasmediterránea has been bought by Caronte & Tourist, which will deploy it on the company’s routes to the smaller Sicilian islands, replacing an older ship in the fleet.
Lorenzo Matacena, CEO of Caronte & Tourist, confirmed the news to Shipping Italy, revealing also that the price for LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA was between EUR 10 and 15 million.
Three months ago, Caronte & Tourist also took delivery of the newly built NEREA from Sefine Shipyard. The plan was to order a sister to that, but the current high shipyard prices have likely put that on hold, and instead the company turned to the secondhand market.
