CalMac reports major profit increase after year of record passenger numbers – but has to spend a further GBP 9 million on this year’s winter refits

FerryDavid MacBrayne Ltd (DML), the Scottish transport and logistics specialist that operates Clyde and Western Isles ferry operator CalMac has recorded a significant increase in profits on the back of record passenger numbers for the year ended 31 March 2019. However, CalMac, the UK’s largest domestic ferry operator, has had to find a further GBP 9 million to carry out its winter fleet maintenance drydocking programme for 2019/20.
