ANDROS KING in extensive renovation ahead of deployment at the end of May

FerryGolden Star Ferries’ ANDROS KING is expected to be deployed on the company’s route from Rafina to the northern and central Cyclades (Andros/Tinos/Mykonos) at the end of May. The vessel, built in 2006, was purchased as VOLCAN DE TABURIENTE from Naviera Armas for EUR 20 million back in July 2024.

ANDROS KING underwent dry docking in Perama in November last year, followed by a technical sea trial. During April this year, the 12,895 GT ferry - with a capacity of 1,400 passengers (reduced by 100 as part of the renovation) and 310 cars - has also undergone an extensive refurbishment of passenger areas while docked in Perama.

With the introduction of ANDROS KING, Golden Star Ferries will operate three ferries on the northern and central Cyclades routes. The two existing vessels are the ANDROS QUEEN, built in 1998, and SUPERFERRY from 1995.
