Algeciras-Gibraltar freight ferry service planned in the event of a no-deal Brexit

PortIt’s not just the UK Government and certain ports and ferry operators that have been busy of late planning for the UK’s exit from the European Union – without a deal or with one. The Government of Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory, has its own plans in the event of a no-deal Brexit, which revolves around starting a new freight ferry service which would link the Spanish port of Algeciras with Gibraltar, across the Bay of Gibraltar – a service which would be one of the shortest international ferry routes in the world at just six nautical miles!
