A NEPITA replaced by DANIELLE CASANOVA while awaiting CAPU ROSSU
FerryOn January 24, Corsica Linea withdrew A NEPITA from service on the route between Marseille and Propriano in Corsica, after which the Stena RoRo-owned RoPax vessel sailed to Perama, Greece. There, the ferry is currently undergoing a series of modifications ahead of a charter to Marine Atlantic, with expected arrival in Canada in summer 2026.
For the time being, Corsica Linea has replaced A NEPITA with DANIELLE CASANOVA on the route. In the coming months, the French shipping company will take delivery of the newly built E-Flexer CAPU ROSSU on charter from Stena RoRo. CAPU ROSSU completed its first sea trials at the end of January from the CMI Jinling Weihai shipyard.
As the 13th E-Flexer, CAPU ROSSU is a 203-metre variant of the series and is therefore hull-wise close to ALA SUINU, the 10th E-Flexer, which Marine Atlantic has operated since early 2024. With the arrival of A NEPITA in Canada, Marine Atlantic’s LEIF ERICSON, built in 1991, is expected to be phased out.
