Tallink Grupp’s customer loyalty program Club One to stop automatically issuing plastic membership cards for the sake of cleaner environment
Starting from 1 February, Tallink’s customer loyalty program Club One will transfer to digital membership cards. Plastic membership cards will no longer be issued automatically.
The aim of changing from plastic to digital membership cards is to reduce our collective environmental footprint and to offer Tallink Grupp’s loyal customers more convenient services. Giving up plastic membership cards complies with the company’s sustainability and corporate responsibility targets, which are increasingly gaining in emphasis.
”To our 2.7 million Club One members, transferring to digital membership cards means firstly an even more convenient service and a more personal approach. Also, most importantly, going digital helps to preserve our environment. With this initiative, we will stop distributing up to 5 tons of plastic per year. This is just another step in
Tallink’s operations as a socially responsible company, to become more sustainable in our activities, which in turn, offers an opportunity to our loyal customers to do their part in having a cleaner environment,“ noted Helena Raud, Head of Tallink Grupp Club One.
According to Raud, the company plans – with the help of its loyalty program customers - to collect the existing Club One plastic membership cards and recycle them for a charitable cause.
Raud added that, responding to the request of Club One loyal customers, the company will currently still also retain the option to request plastic cards based on the club member’s preference.
All the benefits and offers of the Tallink Grupp Club One customer loyalty programme can be conveniently accessed on one’s smart phone by either using the Tallink & Silja Line mobile app or by downloading the digital club card into either an Apple or Android Wallet.
