Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea, prepared to obtain the Global Safe Site certification
Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea is working with Bureau Veritas to obtain the Global Safe Site certification. To achieve this objective, the world's leading company in tests, inspection and tests will carry out a series of audits that will culminate in the certification of all ships and maritime stations managed by Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea. In this way, Bureau Veritas will audit the measures implemented in 26 ships, eight terminals and 16 points of sale.
The favorable audit will confirm and guarantee that the first shipping group in Spain complies with all the hygiene, safety, cleaning and disinfection prevention procedures required for both passengers and crew.
The audit includes the verification of protection measures established by the shipping company, such as the risk assessment of exposure, personal hygiene measures, identification of especially sensitive people, PPE management, measures to ensure social distancing, updating of psychosocial risks, preventive culture, as well as training and information among other aspects.
Similarly, Bureau Veritas will analyze the organizational measures adopted by the shipping company to reduce the risk of contagion of coronavirus. Among all these, the review and verification of the existence and correct implementation of the measures prior to the start of work shifts, organization of work, periodic cleaning and disinfection, mobility plans, reduction of capacity, staggering of arrivals and departures, definition, stand out. of accesses, management with suppliers, measures in case of suspicion and / or contagion, etc.
In addition, the audit company will also review compliance with the regulations applicable to facilities such as those related to cleaning and disinfection of facilities, adaptation of common areas, spaces in apartments, plans for air renewal, cleaning of air systems, commissioning in operation of the machinery and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Security measures aboard Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea
Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea works intensively in the application of security and disinfection protocols in its port facilities and on board, both for passengers, carriers, crews and ground workers, with the firm purpose of preventing the spread of Covid-19 and progressively achieving the normality, as the de-escalation of the health pandemic is implemented.
Apart from the mandatory use of masks for both crew and passengers, Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea has implemented, on a regular and constant basis, cleaning and disinfection protocols, doubling the number of daily rotations in both public access areas and those destined for to our workers.
To do this, it uses specific hospital-grade products and has contracted the services of specialized and approved providers.
The last prevention measure, which started two weeks ago, consists of testing Covid-19 on the crews of our ships that are boarding on a rotating basis.
As for daily cleaning tasks, special attention is paid to common use areas and the most frequent contact surfaces, such as door knobs, tables, furniture, handrails, floors, telephones, hangers and other elements with similar characteristics, according to the following guidelines:
Hydroalcohol-based disinfectants are used by spraying. Products that the shipping company has on board and have been authorized and registered by the Ministry of Health.
After each cleaning, the materials used and the protective equipment used are disposed of in a safe way, after which the hands are washed.
For said cleaning, during the day and preferably at noon, there is a break in the opening dedicated to maintenance, cleaning and replacement tasks. These closing times for cleaning will be duly communicated to the consumer by means of visible signage or messages by public address system.
Likewise, cleaning and disinfection of workstations is performed at each shift change, with special attention to counters and tables or other elements, partitions, if applicable, keyboards, payment terminals, touch screens, work tools and other elements. susceptible to manipulation, paying special attention to those used by more than one worker.
In addition, and at least once a day, the operation and cleaning of toilets, taps and door knobs of the toilets in the establishments and retail stores are reviewed.
In addition, periodic ventilation tasks are carried out in the facilities and, at least, daily and for five minutes.
All ships of Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea have hydroalcoholic gels or disinfectants with virucidal activity authorized and registered by the Ministry of Health and are located in all the common areas of the ship.
Lifts
In the case of the use of elevators or hoists, this is limited to the essential minimum and stairs are preferably used. When it is necessary to use them, the maximum occupation of them is one person, unless it is possible to guarantee the separation of two meters between them or in those cases of people who may require assistance, in which case use is also allowed by their companion .
Toilets
The use of the toilets is allowed by clients, visitors or users and its maximum occupation is of one person, except in those cases of people who may require assistance, in which case the use by their companion is also allowed. The toilets are cleaned and disinfected at least six times a day.
Payments on board and POS
The shipping company recommends payment by card or other means that do not involve physical contact between devices. The dataphone is disinfected after each use, as well as the POS if the employee who uses it is not always the same.
The organization of the circulation of people and the distribution of spaces has been modified establishing an entrance channel to the points of sale and an exit channel, to maintain the interpersonal security distances required at all times by the Ministry of Health.
In buffets, special attention is paid to respecting the two meters of security from one table to another, avoiding that more than two people per table sit down, less if they are from the same family unit, which in their case may occupy the table but always respecting the two meters of distance with respect to the following table.
Waste collection
Naviera Armas has wastebaskets in which to deposit tissues and any other disposable material. These bins are cleaned frequently.
Cabins
The cabins and common areas, once released by customers, are sprayed with an ozone spray for five minutes, in the same way as in the areas where the passage has been as a preventive measure against any risk of contamination.
Wet and dry rugs
This type of carpets will soon be available, the objective of which is to clean and disinfect footwear in areas where the ship is accessed.
Safety distance stickers
They are visibly placed in all the areas where lines are made for the use of the bar or restaurant on board, as well as in the accesses of the ship, giving constant information on the obligation to maintain safe distances.
It should be remembered, once again, that all the crew and employees of Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea have received clear and precise instructions on how to act on land and on board ships. Constant communication has been established with prevention personnel on the ground to raise any questions or problems that may arise on board, so that this allows action to be taken as quickly as possible.
