Hydrogen attracts attention as a potential future carbon-free fuel
Hydrogen is abundant on earth, but not in its pure form. To be able to use it as a clean, carbon-free fuel, man has to develop feasible ways of mass-producing it from sea water using electrolysis, powered by surplus wind or solar energy. Many technical challenges have to be overcome before hydrogen can cover the world’s fuel needs. DNV GL is involved in several research projects to help overcome these challenges.
Read DNV GL’s assessment of the current state of this development in our article “Building a marine supply infrastructure as part of a future hydrogen society”.
