Trans-Asia Shipping reportedly sells ferry to Gabisan Shipping Lines
FerryPhilippine ferry operator Trans-Asia Shipping Lines has reportedly sold one of its RoPax ferries to fellow Cebu-based operator Gabisan Shipping Lines.
The vessel is the 1984-built, 2,019 GT TRANS-ASIA 8. According to Philippine media, the ferry will be renamed GLORIA EIGHT under its new ownership.
Trans-Asia Shipping Lines most recently operated TRANS-ASIA 8 between Cebu and Iloilo. Gabisan Shipping Lines already operates one high-speed passenger craft and one conventional ferry, primarily serving routes from Cebu to Hilongos on Leyte and Talibon on Bohol.
The Japanese-built GLORIA EIGHT will be significantly larger than Gabisan Shipping Lines’ two existing passenger vessels.
