Moby secures another five years on the Genoa–Porto Torres route
FerryMoby has secured the public service contract for passenger and freight services between Genoa and Porto Torres from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2031, keeping the route within the group for another five years.
Its EUR 24.12 million bid was around 29% below the EUR 34.30 million tender base value. Including performance incentives and an optional three-year extension, the total potential contract value is EUR 54.89 million. It is not known whether other operators submitted bids.
The contract requires daily overnight sailings from October to May, with a maximum crossing time of 11 hours and 243 round trips annually. Two vessels no more than 25 years old must each accommodate at least 1,100 people and provide 1,200 lane metres for trailers.
