Small fire on SEADREAM I
CruiseItalian newspapers reported that a small fire had occurred onboard the SEADREAM I while the ship was off the Calabrian coast in the morning hours of September 1, a few nautical miles south of Amalfi.
The fire had broken out in the ship's engine room, causing a total power blackout. In the afternoon, all 105 passengers and 61 crewmembers were safely evacuated to Naples on board the SIREMAR fast ferry ISOLA DI VULCANO. The SEADREAM I too was brought to Naples, under tow.
SEADREAM I is operated by SeaDream Yacht Club and is the former SEA GODDESS I, built in 1984 for Sea Goddess Cruises.
