SILJA SERENADE returns home upgraded from Remontowa
FerryOn 5 February, Tallink/Silja’s cruise ferry SILJA SERENADE returned to the Helsinki-Stockholm route, after the ship has undergone major technical maintenance and upgrades at the Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk, Poland. Tallink Group tells that in addition to these essential improvements, several areas of the ship have been refreshed to enhance the onboard experience.
On the technical side, SILJA SERENADE ‘s integrated automation system, propulsion control system, fire alarm system, and public announcement system have been upgraded. The thrusters and rudders have also been serviced. Throughout the ship, smaller renovations have brought new life to passenger areas. Lighting has been updated, new flooring has been installed, and the dance floor has been refinished. In the Commodore section, the saunas and changing room floors have been renewed, along with the benches. The pools in the spa area have been re-coated, and windows have been serviced and partially replaced. Originally SILJA SERENADE was set to resume in service January 30, but the docking process was a few days delayed. To cover for SILJA SERENADE’s cancelled departures, BALTIC PRINCESS, which normally serves the Turku-Stockholm route, was temporarily relocated to the Helsinki-Stockholm route.
