Irish Continental Group year-to-date trading update
FinanceIrish Continental Group issued its year-to-date trading update for the period 1 Jan-18 Nov and financial information for the first 10 months of 2023. Compared to the same period last year, the number of cars transported increased with 12.2%, ro-ro freight 3.9%. Consolidated Group revenue ended at EUR 491.4 million (-1.8%).
Total revenues recorded for the ferries divisionin the period to 31 October amounted to EUR 352.9 million (2022: EUR 338.0 million) (including intra-division charter income), a 4.4% increase on the prior year. For the year to 18 November, Irish Ferries carried 588,700 cars, an increase of 12.2% on the previous year. Freight carryings were 639,900 ro-ro units, an increase of 3.9% compared with 2022.
The group have been impacted by the weak deep-sea market in the first half of the year and a drop of 14.6% in container freight was seen.
