Hamburg sees record cruise year ahead
Cruise Cruise Gate Hamburg (CGH), operator of the three Hamburg cruise terminals, looks back on a record year 2016 and sees further growth ahead in 2017.
In 2016, Hamburg noted 171 cruise ship calls and a total of more than 710,000 cruise passengers visiting the city. For 2017, Hamburg estimates that about 200 cruise ship calls will be made, carrying about 800,000 passengers.
Meanwhile, the “Hamburg Cruise Days” have become an important event to bring together in the German city cruise laymen and cruise industry professionals. The public event will once more be celebrated when the “Cruise Europe” fair is held in Hamburg in autumn next year (September 8 – 10, 2017).
Among the highlights of the 2017 cruise season in Hamburg are calls by the NORWEGIAN JADE, NORWEGIAN JOY (Meyer Papenburg new built), MEIN SCHIFF 6 (Meyer Turku new built), INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS and MSC PREZIOSA.
