Facelifting for MEIN SCHIFF 2
CruiseTUI Cruises’ MEIN SCHIFF 2 has returned from a two-week overhaul at Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Valetta on November 9. The vessel had entered the yard on October 24 for regular maintenance work on its engines, pool deck and exterior livery.
Furthermore, 10 suites were totally renewed, 5,600 m2 of carpets replaced and new panoramic windows installed. After her shipyard stay, MEIN SCHIFF resumed service as scheduled with a "Mallorca meets Gran Canaria" cruise starting in Palma de Mallorca on November 10.
TUI Cruises' MEIN SCHIFF 2 was built in 1997 at Meyer Werft Papenburg as Celebrity Cruises' MERCURY and joined the TUI Cruises fleet in May 2011. She will be replaced in the fleet by a new MEIN SCHIFF 2 (originally to be named MEIN SCHIFF 8) in 2019.
