Corsica Linea introduces CAPU ROSSU
FerryOn 11 June, Corsica Linea marked the entry into service of the company’s newbuild CAPU ROSSU. The occasion was celebrated with a ceremony on board while the vessel was in Marseille, including, among other things, a Catholic blessing of the ship. A similar ceremony was held the following day in the Corsican port of Ajaccio, after the vessel had completed its first regular crossing.
CAPU ROSSU arrived in Marseille on 20 May on its delivery voyage from China Merchants Industry in China, where the newbuild had been delivered to Stena RoRo on 27 March. Corsica Linea has taken CAPU ROSSU on a long-term charter from Stena RoRo. With a capacity of 1,000 passengers and 2,500 lane metres, the dual-fuel LNG-powered CAPU ROSSU is the 13th E-Flexer vessel delivered to Stena RoRo. At present, a further two E-Flexer vessels are under construction and destined for the Greek ferry operator Attica Group.
