Carnival Corporation reports record second-quarter revenues and adjusted net income

FinanceCarnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL) has reported record results for the second quarter of 2026, delivering net income of USD 537 million and a record adjusted net income of USD 569 million, up more than 20 per cent on the USD 470 million recorded a year earlier. Record revenues reached USD 6.7 billion, against USD 6.3 billion in the same period last year, supported by record net yields in constant currency, which the company said reflected continued strength in demand.

Chief Executive Officer Josh Weinstein described it as the group's twelfth consecutive quarter of record net yields, achieved despite extreme geopolitical headwinds and nearly 30 per cent higher fuel costs. Fuel cost per metric tonne consumed rose to USD 793 from USD 614 a year earlier. Sharper cost discipline and commercial execution allowed Carnival to exceed its March guidance by USD 100 million. Adjusted EBITDA reached a record USD 1.6 billion, up from USD 1.5 billion, while adjusted earnings per share of USD 0.41 rose from USD 0.35 despite an unfavourable fuel and currency impact. Diluted earnings per share came in at USD 0.39, compared with USD 0.42 a year earlier.

Customer deposits climbed to an all-time high of USD 9.0 billion, surpassing the previous record of USD 8.5 billion by over USD 450 million. The company is now 93 per cent booked for 2026 at historically high prices, with booking volumes and prices for 2027 and beyond running ahead of prior-year levels, including a notable increase for European deployments.

On capital allocation, Chief Financial Officer David Bernstein highlighted more than USD 450 million in share repurchases to date and a net debt to adjusted EBITDA ratio of 3.1x, an improvement of more than half a point year on year. Carnival also distributed USD 207 million in dividends during the quarter, against none a year earlier. Recent highlights included unifying its corporate structure under a single Bermuda-incorporated entity and ordering three new LNG-powered ships for Princess Cruises.
