GLOVIS LIGHTHOUSE
Glovis giants arrive in Europe
Ro-roWith four of the giant 10,800 CEU class now delivered, the 102,588 GT GLOVIS LEADER and its sister ships GLOVIS LANDER, GLOVIS NOVA and GLOVIS LIGHTHOUSE have all left China fully loaded with new vehicles for European, South Korean and American destinations.
Considering their huge capacity, few European ports have the parking areas required. However, the ABP-owned Port of Southampton welcomed the 230m long by 40m beam GLOVIS LIGHTHOUSE at their new Solent Gateway terminal. The ICO terminal in Zeebrugge also hosted the mega RoRo before the vessel completed its European tour in Bremerhaven.
On 26 July, the largest single vehicle export cargo from China departed from Shanghai South Port terminal on the GLOVIS NOVA. 7,737 new Tesla Model 3 and Model Y cars were loaded, with Zeebrugge as the destination port. The Shanghai South terminal is located just 10 km from a Tesla mega-factory.
Glovis has a long-term contract to ship Tesla cars on certain trade routes.
