Best quarter ever for Grimaldi’s Finnlines

FinanceFinnlines posted its best ever quarterly financial result. The wholly-owned subsidiary of Grimaldi group in the third quarter 2016 had operating profit up by 23% to MEUR 30.3, compared to MEUR 24.7 a year earlier, boosting overall profit for the first nine months to MEUR 60.9.
The positive result is attributed to lower fuel consumption and reduced operating costs.
Revenue decreased by 5.7% to MEUR 130.4, due to lower cargo-related bunker surcharges, depressing the nine-month total to MEUR 361.1 against MEUR 390.3.
The Finnish carrier also reduced its debt by MEUR 80 to MEUR 481.4.
