Wasaline ensures the traffic between Vaasa and Umea – will operate with normal timetable with cargo
Wasaline has been granted support from Finland's National Emergency Supply Agency and can secure the important transport route between Vaasa and Umea.
The traffic will continue with an unchanged timetable, with 16 departures per week. This can continue as long we do not face any new radical changes in the restrictions regarding the Corona virus. If necessary, this timetable can still be adjusted, and even more departures can be inserted. We will also be in traffic during the Easter and other holidays.
“We have already experienced an increase in cargo, and we are very grateful that transport companies use us and consider it important to support the traffic. In this way we can continue the traffic and increase the departures if needed. Now if ever, we are needed to ensure that the industry receives raw materials, and that medicines and consumer goods reach their destinations. ” says Peter Ståhlberg, CEO of Wasaline.
Vaasa is one of the three ports in Finland that is open to traffic. WASA EXPRESS operates daily between Vaasa in Finland and Umeå in Sweden.
