Stena Line opens for foot passengers on Halmstad-Grenå
Since Friday 14 May, Swedes can travel to Denmark again without special reasons. This was seen directly in the booking figures for Stena Line, which has now decided to reopen for foot passengers on the line between Halmstad and Grenå, starting in early June.
Denmark has now reached the third phase in opening its borders to the outside world. Since Friday 14 May, Swedes can travel to Denmark again without special reasons, for the first time since the summer of 2020. For those who are registered in a neighboring county, such as Halland, Skåne and Västra Götaland, extra generous rules apply. Among other things, the requirement for isolation on arrival in Denmark has been abolished, something that can be seen directly in Stena Line's booking figures.
The ferry company has therefore now decided, starting on Wednesday 2 June, to welcome foot passengers and so-called day trips again during the day without landing in Denmark, on the Halmstad-Grenå route. Initially, this applies to departures Wednesday to Friday, but from July Stena Line also plans to resume Saturday departures.
"It feels really fun to finally welcome passengers from Halland on board STENA NAUTICA again and offer the opportunity to travel on a day trip across the Kattegat with fresh sea air, good food and cheap shopping on board. We are becoming more and more optimistic every week and it is noticeable in our bookings that that optimism is shared by our customers. There is a great pent-up travel craving," says Julia Kronberg, Travel Commercial Manager at Stena Line's Danish routes.
