Stena Line eases mouth mask requirements for passengers
From Monday 14 June, Stena Line will ease the requirement to wear mouth mask on board the company's ferries to Denmark on the Gothenburg-Fredrikshavn and Halmstad-Grenaa routes. The announcement comes after Denmark introduced further easing of its covid restrictions.
The requirement for mouth masks in public transport in Denmark was introduced on 22 August 2020 and also included Stena Line's ferries to and from Denmark. From 14 June, the Danish authorities will further ease the covid restrictions and this includes the requirement to use mouth masks on board Stena Line's ferries.
“We always follow the authorities' rules and recommendations. From 14 June, Denmark will further ease its covid restrictions and, as a result, we will also ease the previous requirement for mouth masks in public spaces on board our ferries. But of course, our guests can continue to wear mouth masks during the trip if they wish, ”says Julia Kronberg, Travel Manager at Stena Line.
For the time being, Stena Line's employees on board will continue to wear mouth masks and the ferries will continue to sail with reduced passenger capacity to enable social distancing on board. Stena Line also continues with the expanded safety measures that have been introduced to ensure a safe journey during the pandemic. Among other things, steam machines are used to disinfect cabins and public spaces and the food is served on a plate instead of take-your-own buffets.
