New mask policy on DFDS' passenger ships
DFDS has introduced a mask policy that follows the highest national standard. This is in addition to our many other measures that aim to keep passengers and crews as safe as possible.
COVID-19: In order to ensure the well-being of our passengers and crew members, DFDS has introduced a mask policy which requires all passengers and crew members on our passenger ships to wear face masks or other face coverings at check-in, whilst boarding, and during disembarkation.
“We also recommend that our passengers wear face coverings when moving around on board,” says Kasper Moos, Head of DFDS’ passenger business.
The policy applies to both foot and car passengers, as well as freight drivers.
Face coverings do not need to be worn when guests are in their own cabins or seated in the restaurants and complying with the necessary social distancing.
Kasper adds: “We have decided to introduce the highest national level on all our routes, even if it exceeds local requirements. We will of course continue our many other measures to prevent the virus from spreading on board, including focused testing of crew members, reduced passenger numbers, availability of hand sanitisers, disinfection of touch points and safe routines in restaurants and bars. There is also plenty of space on board to maintain the necessary social distancing, and the new mask policy should in my view provide a safe environment that allows our passengers to relax and enjoy their voyage.”
