Mercy Ships and MAN Energy Solutions have signed cooperative agreement
After many years of collaboration Mercy Ships and MAN Energy Solutions extend their cooperative agreement. The new generous agreement means that MAN will continue supplying replacement parts for the hospital ship Africa Mercy.
Mercy Ships Danmark and Mercy Ships International have formed a cooperative agreement with MAN Energy Solutions, which all parties have signed at a network meeting at Danish Shipping. The cooperative agreement marks the already long collaboration between the parties.
"The support from MAN Energy Solutions is highly appreciated at Mercy Ships Danmark, and it enables us to reach more poor patients with our free operations and medical care. In addition to this, the support from MAN sends an important signal to our volunteers at our hospital ships, and that is that they are appreciated. It's an acknowledgement of the effort our volunteers put into their work," says Christian Sophus Ehlers, CEO, Mercy Ships Danmark.
At the network meeting leading to the signing of the cooperative agreement, the cooperative partnerships of the organization were particularly in focus.
"Studies show that the employees appreciate when organizations 'give something in return'. And that the consumers prefer supporting organizations that make a difference in the world," says Christian Sophus Ehlers, CEO, Mercy Ships Danmark.
Through the years of collaboration MAN Energy Solutions have sponsored spare parts for hundreds and thousands of Euros to Mercy Ships.
The spare parts have been installed on the humanitarian hospital ship AFRICA MERCY.
"The extension of the agreement with Mercy Ships was a natural choice. To contribute supplying green electricity and power to a hospital ship that helps some of the most vulnerable people in the world, has gradually become a part of MAN Energy Solution's DNA. We take great pride in contributing to the vital and lifesaving work of Mercy Ships, and we look forward to embark their new hospital ship Global Mercy in the new year," says Thomas Leander, Vice President - Head of Solutions and Site Manager, MAN Energy Solutions.
The humanitarian organization's new ship GLOBAL MERCY will be put in operation as hospital ship in the new year and will among other places visit Rotterdam before the ship's first official voyage to Senegal. GLOBAL MERCY is the world's largest civilian hospital ship.
