IMS to join forces with Redwise
Redwise, the Dutch global deliverer of seagoing vessels, maritime recruitment and deep-sea pilotage, has acquired a minority share in Australian IMS (International Maritime Services Pty, Ltd). This in concurrently with a management buy-out transaction of the current management.
IMSis key provider of crewing and training services to prominent Australian shipyards with commercial / defence projects and high-speed catamaran ferries. IMS is also a prime shipdelivery contractor for Australian tug and offshore vessel while crewing and delivering third party RoPax ferry operators around the world.
The participation in the ownership, secures a continuous presence of Redwise in the important Australian market to the benefit of its international customers. In particular those with local Australian presence. IMS will maintain its own unique Australian culture and operating modus now also backed by an experienced and financially strong shareholder.
“Both companies are niche market operators but leaders in their field and will continue to service their own customer base” says Redwise CEO Willem-Jan Hamers. “We are confident that Brendan Cooley, Managing Director and co-shareholder of the new company will be able to grow IMS services further by delivering additional service to our current and new customers. “The companies will benefit from each other’s know-how and experience, and are capable of jointly offering crew management services, which will add value for our customers,” adds Brendan Cooley.
Kim Cleggett, founder and outgoing shareholder of IMS underlines his satisfaction to hand over the keys of the company to a combination of the present IMS management team with the longstanding record and experience of Redwise. “I am confident that our customers will be very satisfied with this quality handover of their crewing, training and ship transports requirements“ adds Cleggett, who will remain available as an advisor for the organisation. All the IMS staff will remain in office and work from their present location towards a steady growth of the business.
