Torghatten cannot buy Fjord 1
The Norwegian Competition Authority has ruled that if Torghatten would purchase a 50 percent stake in Fjord 1, it would put a fair competition at risk and would drive the prices up.
Torghatten suggested to sell off a subsidiary, FosenNamsos Sjø, which recently was awarded the public service contract for ferry services between Flakk and Rørvik. This service is currently being operated by Fjord 1, and will be taken over in 2019.
The Competition Authority said this player was too small, which means selling this company would not be sufficient to solve the competition issue.
