The 18,920 GT SPIRIT OF TOULOUSE, which was launched in February, will then be ready to conduct sea trials prior to delivery. The innovative 169.0 metres long by 23.3 metres beam RoRo vessel, designed by Deltamarin, will be long-term chartered to Airbus for the transport of aircraft components between St Nazaire – Montoir in France and Mobile, Alabama.

The vessel has an underdeck capacity of 6 A320 aircraft sub-assemblies, equivalent to 1,400 lane metre, plus 70 FEUs on deck. To provide a 70% decrease in CO2 emissions compared with LDA’s existing RoRo fleet, it is also equipped with two methanol dual fuel Wartsila 9L32M main engines as well as the rotorsails to maintain a 14-knot service speed.

The vessel is expected to be delivered in October, followed by its two sisterships, the SPIRIT OF MOBILE and the SPIRIT OF MIRABEL.
