NCL reduce the number of planned departures from Hamburg?
NORWEGIAN JADE will perform more departures from Southampton instead of Hamburg.
Last winter Norwegian Cruise Lines announced at a press conference in Hamburg that a total of 19 calls were planned for the Hanseatic city in 2017. The company has now changed its mind.
Only six departures in June and July are still planned but the majority of the summer cruises will take place from Southampton.
The independent Hamburg Economics Senator Frank Horch and Jens Meier, head of the Hamburg Port Authority, called last winter's announcement a "quantum leap for the cruise city Hamburg".
NCL now stated that they have adapted the routes in relation to the demand. Now the passenger has to decide specifically whether he wants to embark in Hamburg or in Southampton.
Apparently, the Hamburg-trips were not so well booked by the Americans, as NCL had planned or hoped for.
