MEIN SCHIFF 5 christened
After having carried out a number of pre-inaugural cruises in the previous weeks, TUI Cruises’ latest newbuild MEIN SCHIFF 5 was finally christened in the port of Travemünde on July 15th.
Godmother of the Meyer Turku-built ship was the German singer and 2010 ESC winner Lena Meyer-Landrut who also performed a short set of songs onboard prior to the late evening christening ceremony. The christening itself took place with the vessel anchoring right in front of Travemünde’s sandy beach where thousands of spectators could watch the show which was also streamed on the internet.
From Travemünde, MEIN SCHIFF 5 sailed to Kiel where her official maiden voyage started one day later.
