The urgency for the maritime sector to reduce ships' emissions is mounting. To achieve the ambitious zero-emission goal by 2050, a radical change from business as usual is required from now on, but research and innovation have been developing new solutions and technologies to be applied in the extremely wide range of operational profiles of passenger ferries.
Shippax’s Philippe Holthof discussed the green agenda with experts from RINA, Per Wimby (Stena Teknik), Poul Woodall (DFDS), Dario Bocchetti (Grimaldi Group) and Tarvi-Carlos Tuulik (Tallink Grupp). They talked about the decarbonization challenges and solutions, including the latest regulatory developments, EEXI and alternative fuels.
