Atlânticoline in the Azores choose Carus to upgrade their digital experience
Atlânticoline, the ferry operator in the Azores, Portugal, has partnered with Carus to enhance the digital experience for passengers traveling between the Azorean islands.
The Azores rely heavily on ferry services as a vital connection between the several islands of the archipelago. Residents benefit from reduced ferry rates, to ensure affordability without burdening ferry operators. To manage this benefit, an online resident validation service is required to confirm eligibility for discounted fares.
In addition to resident validation, Portuguese regulations mandate that every ticket sale is linked to a digitally signed invoice, meeting the country’s strict invoicing requirements.
Ricardo Batista, Executive Member of the Board of Atlânticoline, expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating:
"We could clearly see that Carus has the experience and expertise in managing processes that align with the unique requirements of our operations in the Azores."
John Bertell, Director of Sales at Carus, shared his enthusiasm for the project:
"We are excited to welcome the Azores to the growing family of Carus clients. Our extensive experience in providing IT solutions for lifeline services will prove invaluable as we implement our system to support both local residents and tourists. Coming from the Åland archipelago, we are islanders ourselves, so we understand the nuances of serving communities that rely heavily on ferry transport."
