Eesti Gaas orders LNG bunker barge

The Estonian energy company Eesti Gaas has placed an order at Damen Shipyards for a new 6,000m³ capacity LNG bunker barge to provide mobile LNG bunkering for the growing fleet of LNG vessels in the North-East Baltic Sea area.

TESO’s SCHULPENGAT to be recycled

DFDS further increases capacity and frequency on Klaipeda routes

End of the line for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ HANSEATIC

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ 8,445gt, 1991-built expedition cruise vessel HANSEATIC completed her final voyage for the German cruise operator on 30 September and immediately drydocked at Hamburg’s Blohm+Voss shipyard to be readied for service with her new owners; Canada’s One Expedition Cruises as RCGS RESOLUTE. The Canadian operator, based in Squamish, British Colombia, will take delivery of the vessel during the first week of October.

Major row breaks out on the Clyde between CMAL and Ferguson Marine

NorthLink Ferries Chooses Corethree as M-Ticketing Partner

Scottish ferry operator, NorthLink Ferries, has selected mobile solutions company, Corethree, to roll out its new m-ticketing app. Previously passengers could book their voyage to the Scottish Northern Isles with NorthLink Ferries via their website, telephone or by visiting one of their offices. However, now this new app features the ability to book tickets, cabins and vehicles on a journey and pay securely through a mobile device.

ClassNK Advises Existing Ships to Install Ballast Water Management Systems Early On

Classification society ClassNK has analyzed the retrofitting status of ballast water management systems (BWMS) on its registered ships and confirmed that installation deadlines based on the Ballast Water Management Convention (BWM Convention) for many of them are highly concentrated in the year 2022. As difficulties are expected in the installation of BWMS if everyone around the world waits until 2022, ClassNK recommends installing early.
