Wasaline starts new personnel negotiations
Wasaline starts new personnel negotiations. The personnel negotiations cover the entire staff. Wasaline has previously temporally laid off most of the staff because of the coronavirus epidemic and the travel restrictions that apply. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises not to travel abroad until 15 July. The conditions to travel this summer have weakened.
“Currently our operations include cargo and business travelers. Cargo volumes have shown an increasing trend. Thanks to the support from the National Emergency Supply Agency in Finland, we have managed to get a close to zero result for the company this spring. If the cargo traffic support does not continue after June 18, and travel does not start this summer, it will be very difficult to continue the traffic after that. It is very regrettable that we end up with the layoffs. We hope that everyone realizes the seriousness of the situation for passenger shipping companies and that cargo traffic support continues so that emergency preparedness is maintained in Finland even in the future, "says Peter Ståhlberg, CEO of Wasaline.
