Viking Line reveals: VIKING GLORY to have Baltic Sea’s first rotating private dining room with 220-degree unobstructed sea view

The shipping company Viking Line is now building one of the world’s most climate-smart vessels, VIKING GLORY. The vessel, to provide daily service on the Turku-Mariehamn-Stockholm route starting in early 2022, will offer out-of-the-ordinary cruise experiences. It can now be revealed that Viking Glory will be the first on the Baltic Sea with Fyren, its glazed-in private dining room with a rotating table and unbeatable view. At the same time, the newly developed bistro restaurant Kobba is being launched.

VIKING GLORY, which will depart each morning from Turku for Stockholm, offers innovations in both environmental technology and the passenger experience. The vessel can handle 2,800 passengers and will have a total of six different restaurants based on passengers’ preferences and needs. The interiors of Viking Glory are being furnished in partnership with the Swedish architect firm Koncept, with the underlying theme being to open up the unique Baltic Sea environment to everyone on board.

“Fyren is perhaps Viking Line’s most spectacular venue ever. Small parties can enjoy world-class food here, which has the vessel’s best vantage point. It will have an extraordinary 220-degree view of the salt-sprayed rocks and islets – and absolutely nothing that blocks the view,” says Lotta Lindroos, VIKING GLORY’s Launch Manager.

Fyren can be booked for a maximum of 12 seated guests for breakfast or dinner. If someone instead wants to arrange a social event for more people, like a luxurious cocktail party, up to 26 guests can be accommodated. It is also possible to book food and beverage packages such as  Scandinavian Afternoon Tea Break, Fyren Champagne Break and Fyren Seafood Break.

The archipelago oasis Kobba is a quality Nordic bistro restaurant that combines clean Scandinavian flavours with archipelago views and a down-to-earth setting. In the morning, the vessel’s premium breakfast is served here, while dinners feature well-prepared dishes with a hint of the forest, sea and archipelago. At other times, anyone with a bit of an appetite can order snacks and small dishes in Kobba Bar.

Other restaurants on VIKING GLORY are the classic buffet, the Market food hall with various concepts ranging from pizza to Scandinavian home cooking, and the casual restaurant Mimmi’s. During the warmer half of the year, passengers can also enjoy meals at Viking Terrace, Glory’s own rooftop terrace. Read more about VIKING GLORY and the entire range of restaurants here.
