Trasmed invests around 30 million euros in renewing its fleet
The restyling works of Trasmed's fleet are about to start. Four ships of the shipping company, the CIUDAD DE PALMA, VOLCAN DE TIJARAFE, VOLCAN DEL TEIDE and CIUDAD DE GRANADA, will alternate every 45 days in dry dock from December 6, to renew both in the service areas for the passengers as in the new banner that will show its two sides.
Thus, the ships will receive new names and a new ensign. In addition, the predominant color will be the characteristic Grimaldi blue both on the funnel and on both sides, where the Grimaldi Trasmed sign will appear. Similarly, the renovation of the passenger lounges and cabins will be carried out.
The renewal of the fleet, which will involve an investment of approximately 30 million euros, will be carried out in the shipyards of La Spezia (Italy) gradually and will begin with the CIUDAD DE PALMA ferry, currently in service on the line between Barcelona and Palma.
The renovation and improvement works will also mean an advance in the sustainability of the ships thanks to the installation of pollutant gas cleaning systems scrubbers in each of them.
The full restyling of the fleet is scheduled to end on May 30, 2022.
Miguel Pardo, commercial director of Trasmed, has declared that "the entrance of the Grimaldi group allows us to face this important investment". For the company, he added, "the customer is at the center of attention and we are going to start the 2022 season with the fleet and services in perfect condition so that the travel experience equals or exceeds passenger expectations".
