TeamTec and Kurita sign distributor agreement for Kurita Ballast Water Management System
On 23rd October 2018, TeamTec AS and Kurita Water Industries Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement for the distribution of Kurita Ballast Water Management System (BWMS).
Kurita BWMS is a filter-free treatment system disinfecting the ballast water by dosing sodium hypochlorite. The system is IMO G8/G9 approved, and currently in the process of obtaining both revised G8 approval and USCG approval.
Under the terms of the agreement, TeamTec will provide worldwide sales and marketing of Kurita BWMS, as well as handling project execution, delivery and Lifecycle Service. TeamTec, already well-established with TeamTec Oceansaver® BWTS, sees great potential in the market for Kurita BWMS.
“The interest for our TeamTec Oceansaver® BWTS is all-time high”, emphasizes Edvin Tunheim Tønnessen, Head of Sales & Projects BWTS at TeamTec. “However, from customers with older vessels we have seen an increasing demand for ballast water management systems that do not use filters and generally are easier to install. Kurita BWMS will enable us to offer a system with very low system installation cost, as well as giving us a good alternative for vessels with low ballast water flow rates.”
