“This summer's routes will pamper people in Finland who have been waiting for SILJA SERENADE's return. Now we offer our passengers the opportunity to get to the Promenade after a long time and to enjoy the ship’s great restaurants and other services. SILJA SERENADE has never operated on the Helsinki-Tallinn route before, and we are looking forward to this new product. We hope that SILJA SERENADE will be able to return to its own Helsinki-Stockholm route from the beginning of August, “ says Margus Schults, CEO of Tallink Silja Oy.

SILJA EUROPA will start operating on the Helsinki-Tallinn route on 23 June according to its normal schedule. The fast ferries MEGASTAR and STAR also operate throughout the year according to their normal schedule. The vessels operate in Helsinki from the West Harbour, terminals T1 and T2. Also completely renovated Tallink City Hotel awaits passengers in Tallinn.

During the summer, SILJA SYMPHONY operates on domestic routes in Sweden, offering special cruises to passengers departing from Sweden. The new destination this summer is Ystad. During July, SILJA SYMPHONY will make a total of 11 cruises from Stockholm to Visby inn Gotland island and 2 cruises on the Stockholm-Ystad-Visby route.

The BALTIC PRINCESS and GALAXY on the Turku-Åland-Stockholm route will operate according to their normal schedule throughout the summer. All the ships' restaurants and services will open on 4.6. It is possible to make a one-night cruise from Turku, an 11-hour archipelago cruise or an hotel package, and regular one way trips to Stockholm are also possible taking into consideration the travel restrictions.

The start time of the planned Helsinki-Riga cruises, operated by ROMANTIKA, during the summer season will be specified later. The company will monitor the developments of the national vaccination programmes, the overall pandemic situation in its home markets and national travel restrictions, and make decisions regarding additional routes, cruises and beyond July, within the next month.

The health and safety of our clients and crew is our priority. The number of passengers onboard has been reduced to maximum 75% of normal capacity to make social distancing easier. Restaurants will use tiered settings for reservations in order to provide safe and comfortable dining.

Commenting on the launch of sales for the first summer cruises, Paavo Nõgene, CEO of Tallink Grupp said:

“Our recent survey among Finnish and Swedish customers clearly showed that people around the Baltic Sea are looking for a get-away this summer, as they were last summer. However, when last year more than 10% intended to stay at home and not go anywhere during the summer, then this year, this number has dropped to 5%. After the year we have had, it is understandable that travelling, even if available only within our own domestic markets, is on the cards for most people.

“While the uncertainties regarding restrictions and the virus still remain in our region, all we can do right now is initially get creative with routes and trips within our markets and offer customers safe and quarantine free travel options, which we are happy to offer in June and July to Finnish and Swedish customers on their favourite vessels at first and, hopefully, to our other markets’ customers soon as well".
